1984 GL5 seat belt bell 'rings' under strange conditions-Gremlins? Pls Help 200

An otherwise nearly pristine automobile which we purchased new, this beautiful 1984 GL5 wagon has suddenly developed the following:

1. The seat bell sounder "bongs" continuously any time the brake light switch is activated by pressing the brake pedal - does not matter whether the ignition key is ON or OFF, whether driving or parked.

2. The sounder also "bongs" continuously when the cruise control switch (on the column lever) is switched to the ON position, however, this only occurs when the ignition switch is turned ON.

Otherwise, the sounder works normally with seat belts, key in the ignition with the doors open, etc.

This has confounded all the technicians in our area, any help or suggestions at all would be greatly appreciated. Could this be an unusual circuit grounding problem??
Thank you in advance,
Dave
