Major oil leak on brand new engine!!! Please help!!! 700

I just started to add oil to the B23FT project in order to prime it and got a surprise. Oil started immediately seeping out from in between the head and the block in between cylinders 1 and 2 on the intake side. How could this be happening? To eliminate the obvious, yes there is a head gasket in there, and yes it was torqued properly. Now this engine does have a 530 head and I think the B230FT gasket was used. Did I miss something here? Was I supposed to use some sort of sealer? I really needed to get the engine fired up this weekend because my other car is due for inspection (which it won't pass) this month. Any suggestions on what might be wrong?

Thanks,

Matthew
