nivomat replacement 700 1987

I am in serious need of either replacements for my nivomats or a conversion to regular shocks and springs. I'm wondering what is the standard cost for each of these options, and which do you all recommend? I'm leaning heavily towards conversion, unless I can get the nivomats cheaply(ipd), and find a shop to install them. Any input would be great. Also, on a side note, my right front wheel has a wicked howl/shrieking noise on and off. I'm thinking it's the bearings, but if anyone knows otherwise I'd like to know. Thanks.
