Overdrive button. What is it? Should I ever push it? 200 1988

I've driven a few. They are dogs (lovable dogs, but dogs nevertheless). 700/900 series with auto transmission are worse (same engine in a heavier car). My old 245 had manual transmission and was much less dog-like. Turbos help (add about 50 HP) but at the expense of more maintenance issues (more stuff to go wrong). For my money the 200 series NA with the B230 engine is the quinticential Volvo. Still miss mine. Nearly shed a tear when they came and towed it away..sniff.....
