Who makes the best V8 engine swap kit that is repair friendly... 900

I want to keep an automatic. How about using the existing AW-71?
Engine: Chevy? Ford? Is V6 the way to go? Earlier 80's Chevrolet 2.8 liter with 60 degree layout had a narrow width-maybe friendlier to service. I want an arrangement that will be resellable, durable, long term, no hot rod stuff,, just more umph that what I got. I have a cherry picker but do not want to loose big bucks on fabricating major parts: mounts, brackets, etc.
How would this affect handling, braking and interior sound?
Give me some input. I have a 1993 940 nonturbo.
