I've done that conversion on my PV. I just looked at a 140 wiring diagram for a few minutes before wiring it up. Works perfectly. And it gives you a spot to put your foot on the floor that isn't a pedal or switch.

On my switch the aluminum housing collapsed when I attempted to dim the lights on a twisty country road. Went to dab it and not only did the headlights go out but a shower of sparks erupted down on the floorboard. More than a little disconcerting...
