Horror! Just found out 240-1991 ECU is failure prone 561, can I change EPROM? 200 1991

This morning I just found out that ECU on my 240 1991 is a 561. From what I read in the archives it is the one that is prone to faillure or trouble. Someone wrote that most of the 561 have failed by now. Hummm…

Any Brickster had success replacing the EPROM chip in there or should I look for a used 951?

Archives also mention part no. 271838-6 for that EPROM replacent, is this correct?

Thank you for your reply/comments. And have a good day.
