stalling between 2 and 3 on tach HELP 200 1988

Hi,thanks for taking the time to read my post,my problem here is that my brick seems to have developed a stalling problem after taking it to the car wash i hosed under the hood fairly well(you know in an effort to keep things clean under there as well)a few hours later i started it to run some errands and it started stalling on acceleration between 2 and 3 on the tach,at first i thought it was the hall effect sensor in the distributer as my old distributers plastic clip was hanging loose on the distributer(figured i got water in there),replaced it with a new distributer from junkyard(came outta an 85 240)this still didnt solve the problem.checked fuel pumps relay fuel filter you know the usual fuel related problems still no luck.If anyone else had had a similar problem please drop me a line so that i can locate the problem and solve it
