Drivability Problem 700 1986

It could be the engine wiring harness shorting out due to crumbling insulation.
If it has not already been replaced, I would almost be certain that it is due... Another possibility is a loose/oxidated electrical connection somewhere... open up the hood and start poking around, just stay away from belts, fan & exhaust manifold...
