Rear Clunk 900

Two shops looked at my 940 and were not able to diagnose this problem. The car clunked when going over rough pavement and became progressively worse.

The first shop said my shock was defective (200k...replaced at 170). The second said that I must have elongated the hole the lower shock mounting bolt fastened through the trailing arm. Guess what?

Three lug nuts over 100 ft-lbs and two only finger tight. Clunk is gone.

Don't ignore the obvious or routine, and torque your own lug nuts.
