Drivability Problem 700 1986

Yes it could be the wiring harness but to be more specific check the plug and wiring to the distributor. There is a plug that attaches almost out of site at the bottom of it. The connector part on the dist is known to crumble and allow the wires to chafe on the metal. does the tach jump downwards towards 0 when this happens? If yes then this is very likely cause.

If tach stays normal resolder the fuel pump relay and radio surpression relay (if you have one) mounted on the coolant resevoir.
