MANY electrical problems - other experiences?

My 1986 760T is a very solid car. Never been in a wreck, orig engine, tranny, and turbo at 150,000 all working fine. The problems I have with it are mostly electrical. Neither of the rear windows work, but the switches are fine. It's definitely the (expensive) wiring harness, buried in the B-pillar. The driver's power seat only moves when it wants to. The driver's heated seat only works on low, and the passenger's only on high. I had a smart-ass Chevy Avalanche-driving guy tell me "Oh, yeah, the 700's are known for that," but I don't believe him. Has anyone else had similar problems? Is this really a known issue?
