turbo woes 900

I was worried about my turbo, I took a trip over Labor day 1200 miles round trip, and while the car ran great almost 24 MPG. I burned up alot of oil about 1/2 quart every 300 miles. I do have a leaking return line that I had siliconed to help reduce loss of oil. Halfway on trip I started noticing oil on the rear windshield of my wagon, I am assuming it was spraying up onto glass due to extended high speed interstate travel, have never noticed before ( avg 78 mph). After the first leg of the trip I crawled under and found of course oil leaking from return line and from under the turbo near where the actuator rod attaches, am I pushing oil past the turbo seals? I was planning on getting the turbo rebuilt this Fall is this the best option. Turbo stills works great boosts fine from what I can tell and other than buying alot of oil car runs ok, replaced plugs, wires, turbo breather nipple, oil filler seal and all engine seals within last year.
Another question I had started using Maxlife oil several months ago 10W30 is this less viscous than conventional oil and therefore more easily lost in a open system?
Any and all advice much appreciated.
Where is the best place to buy replacement vaccum hose for my volvo?
