Ok, so tonight I can't sleep, so i decide to work on my car a little. I wanted to make up a cold air intake just for the fun of it, not relizing that they sorta have one all ready. It basic a tube that goes from the bottom of the air box, then it goes through the headlight mount (near the bottom), then makes a 90 degree bend to the left (if your looking from the front of the car) from there it has another 90 degree bend upwards and the hole is at an angle facing the radiator (you have to take off the grill to get to it). It really reminds me as a snorkle. From there I guess it gets enough cold air, but its not forced in. So taking it and flipping it around where the opening is facing front, and it resting on those little "flaps" that i guess direct more air to the radiator. So, now the air should be forced into the snorkle, or so I think. It really looks good from there, like it was a custom job.
The only problem I can find is now if water comes up to the air dam, bye bye engine. Also i was thinking that maybe rain, going at a high speed (90 mph? he he he) would be forced in there, getting sucked up by the engine, which once again turns the engine into a water log.
So what do you think? Good idea? Bad idea? I haven't tryed driving it yet, I have about 6 hours in till then...
Thanks in advance
