Master cylinder question 200 1988

I have to replace the master cylinder on my '88 240. I called the local Auto Zone for pricing. The Auto Zone guy quotes me two prices one for a master cylinder with reservoir and one w/o the reservior. This seems odd to me, can the reservoir be moved from one master cylinder to another? Any help/suggestions or comments on Auto Zone parts would be appreciated. (The dealer wants $122.00 for the MC AZ wants $45.00) If possible I would like to go with AZ.
