1996 960 2.5 24v?

I'm considering buying a 1996 960 2.5 24v with 63k miles on the clock from a trusted friend here in the UK. (Do you have the 2.5 litre model in the US?). Although I'm aware of what has been written on this board about the 960 (which is not as complimentary as say the 940 2.3 LPT) I think this one may be too good to miss! It is in mint condition, full service history, one owner etc, etc. However one still has those little nagging doubts, so any reassurance is welcome.

I believe that the engine model is the B6254 - is this correct? Any one know which ECU is fitted?

Still, I'm also going to keep my 1985 240 estate which I've had for 10 years and has been a real gem.
