Dumb question - Jackstands, Floor-Jacks, Load capacity versus curb weight of car 900

The "curb weight" of my 945 is 3350 lbs. Does this imply that any jackstand or floor jack with a load capacity greater than 3350 lbs is "safe" for this car. 2 ton stands and floor jacks seem to be the lowest rating commonly available (and the cheapest to buy). Is there any advantage to buying stands or jacks with a higher load rating? The higher load ratings for these items seem to go along with a higher max lift height usually, so I guess that might be a factor.
Interested in any opinions.
