Allison Ignition 1800 1973

I just installed a used Allison XR-700 breakerless ignition system in my 73 ES. It started up and the tach is working, but the motor stops after a few seconds. It seems like it may be starting and running on just the gas from the cold start injection, but I'm not sure and I do not have any info on the system except the color code of the wiring. For the few seconds it does run it seems to idle OK . Does anyone out there have any Ideas? I put the old distrubtor back and it's up and running again, but I'd still like to install the breakerless system. ALL HELP WELCOME !!
