CR-814 Stereo.... Repair or Replace? 900

The on/off volume control knob for my CR-814 (cassette w/ CD changer) is shot. I read a post here a while ago that mentioned a repair service, but I'm looking for opinions on whether the stereo is worth repairing. Does Alpine make a new
unit that will fit the dash the same as the original?
