cannot clear 3-2-1 computer code - aux. relay 700 1990

According to the list of fault codes in the 700/900 FAQ's:

3-2-1 Problem:Signal missing to/from cold start valve. Possible Cause: Radio Suppression Relay. (This would probably be because the Radio Suppression Relay supplies the power to open the injectors.)

When you say you replaced the "aux relay", are you talking about one of the two relays on the front side of the coolant bottle? One of those is the Aux Cooling Fan Relay, and the other is the Radio Suppression Relay. If so, it might just be that you either A.) Actually replaced the Radio Suppression Relay, or B.) Replaced the Aux Fan Relay, and at the same time disturbed the RS relay and now it's making better contact, but still misses occasionally, causing the 3-2-1.

Are you certain you are clearing the codes back to 1-1-1 after each reading?

Just some brainstorming that I hope might help. Whatever is going on, just remember "wife happy". (Don't screw that up.)
