Rear speakers and new CD Player 200 1987

I got sick of the speakers in my 1987 240 GL. Ordered up a set of replacement rears (4" Blaupunkt PCx402s) to go with my Pioneer DEH1500. Anywho, I'm trying to figure out wiring on this new head unit and it occurred to me that while the replacement speakers should be able to handle the unit's on board RMS of 22 Watts (I plan to bypass the little 2x15 factory amp) the front speakers may not. Does anyone know what I can get away with on the stock front speakers?
