Adding speed sensor to M46 for M46 conversion on '89- 200 1989

Was reading through some old posts about transplanting the M46 into '89 and later cars with the speed sensor on top of the belhausing. I have several M46's and I don't see the flat spot cast into the belhausing mentioned in earlier posts where the sensor could go. Has anyone had success with drilling a new hole and mounting the speed sensor to the M46 belhausing? How does the speed sensor mount to the original belhausing? does it have a bracket? and if so, how does this bracket mount?
