Hubcap Cleaning 700

Hi all

What do you guys use to clean your hubcap to make them new and shiny again? Envy some of the shiny hubcaps in the Gallery. I've been using a tootbrush with car shampoo with little success to clean the blackish stain in what do you call spokes/slots on the outer edges.(sorry but my automotive vocab is very limited) Most of the products on the self seems to be for alloy wheels and I'm afraid of using it in case it ruins the plastic hubcaps coating. Thanks
