64, PV544 Door Window Elevator Channel 444-544

I'm sure there is a proper way of doing this . I just haven't heard about it. This summer with the hot, moist weather my new fuzzies swelled up enough to hold the glass in place when I cranked down the window, and the channel went down by itself. My solution was to unscrew the channel from the cable, scrape the rubber insert as clean as I could, anoint it with gasket adhesive, let it dry a bit (not too much), re-attach it to the cable, and force the glass back into it. I let it sit for an hour or so like that, and It's been working fine ever since.
