Looking at buying 240......need info/suggestions/look out for's.... 200

Currently building '87 BMW 5 Series. Want to add a 240 to the stable. I know absolutely nothing about them. I know in the end I would like: sedan, will be lowered, ground effects added (preferably factory style if there are any) 17" wheels of Volvo origin, Fuel injection, turbocharged w/intercooler, would prefer would prefer mid-late 80's. What are the build limits of the factory motor?

I like to keep most everything as close to factory parts as possible (except suspension).

With Bimmer, I use factory ground effects from e28 M5, factory brakes from e34 M3, factory M-Contour 17"s from M3, factory turbo system from 740, other engine parts from other same year BMW's (head, crank...) So, you can see how I like to build....

So, please help me.
