Leaky alloy rim

Lots of old alloys leak at the bead. The problem seems to mainly be corrosion at the bead. Polishing the rim with the tire dismounted seems to be the only fix. I'm presently having this trouble with an 88 "Corona" 240GL wheel, (they're terrible for it) and one of my 240 "Virgo" 15" wheels has started doing it too. Best thing is a polishing wheel on a drill but either hand sanding or wire brushing can produce acceptable results.
