Help - nasty discovery since previous post! 900

Wondering if anyone can help - I'm at a loss at this point.

Just installed new radiator after catastrophic failure of a fairly recent replacement in my 93 945 turbo.

New unit works great - after the t-stat opens. Before, while the car is warming up, there's a small leak coming from the upper rad. inlet that goes to the t-stat. As soon as it opens, no more leak.

This leads me to believe that there is too much pressure before the t-stat opens, but I haven't the faintest idea where it would come from. Could this have caused the demise of my old rad.?

Has anyone had any experience with blockages like this? I've just done a flush with the Prestone stuff and waiting for the thing to cool down. Worried that I'm going to blow something or my brand new rad. if I don't figure this out. Help!

Many thanks,

Ben
