Missing middle muffler 200 1986

Actually, there is a performance kit that is issued by iPD that helps add HP to your volvo by removing the forward muffler and replacing the back one with a turbo muffler. I currently run this on my 80 wagon and love it. It adds a nice grabbing feeling upon acceleration, and adds a cool low tone to the overall sound.
By removing that first muffler, your are only going to increase air flow and add minimal noise (louder- un muffled sound). No real big deal in any case. Oty is correct in saying that some muffler shops will do a crappy job by taking that muffler away in the effort to save some money, but it has seemed to be few and far between here in Portland. The real things to pay attention to are the Ox. Sensor and the CAT. If those are in good shape, your golden and wont be doing any harm to your volvo.
