converting to manual 700

The hard part will probably be FINDING THE PARTS. 740 stick shifts are not common cars in this country. I've seen just a handful. One, an 88 745T wagon was bought by a guy from Minnesota who drove here non-stop to get it.... he really wanted a stick I guess.
You need the pedal cluster, a 740 manual trans driveshaft (doesn't matter the size, you're replacing the whole thing), an M46 or M47 with the long 740 shifter, and a flywheel appropriate to your year of car. The flywheel needs to have the right number of holes if you've got an 89-up NA or 90-up Turbo. That's for the crank sensor to count pulses.
You'll also need some smaller items, like the clutch itself, the clutch cable or master/slave cylinders, and a new rear trans rubber mount, and a pilot bearing for the crankshaft.
