volvo 780 700

My car is running rich according to the test point green/white wire on the pigtail. Just to test out a theory ..if I disconnect the engine temp sensor and replace it with a 300 ohm resistor...maybe then I can get it lean..even though the sensor reads like 320 ohms.. Maybe those test points are not accurate or my o2 sensor give an innaccurate so that it thinks it is rich when it isnt that rich..the air/fuel mix..any comments
