Removing clutch, What's the best way to jam ring gear? 700 1988

I got the trans out of my '88 745t yesterday. Easy job with a good floor jack. It really isn't that heavy but difficult to move around under the car.

Anyway, next step is to remove the clutch. Mine has the hex bolts on the pressure plate btw, and I'm looking for the best way to hold the flywheel. Screwdriver jamming the ring gear teeth?

I've managed to loosen three of the bolts by tapping a 90degree Hex wrench with a mallet. With the wrench oriented so the movement wouldn't rotate the crank it worked.

The other three are more stubborn and I'm picking up a 6mm socketed hex bit today.

The release bearing is noisy, the release fork pivot almost worn completely through and the pivot ball has a nice ridge. The pilot bearing is also pretty loose.

Looking forward to getting 'ol blue back on the road.

Thanks,
