Electrical Problem ........................................ Ignition Switch? 700 1990

A business associate of mine is having problems with her '90 740 (16X,000 miles). Sometimes when she starts the car, some of the electrical items; wipers, heater blower....(etc ??) do not operate. Also when this happens, the SRS warning light is illuminated. Eight months ago she took the car to the dealer for this condition and they said that it was because the belts were worn and the alternator output was low. I have read here that low battery voltage can set an SRS fault, so that makes some sense. However I do not see any connection between low charge voltage and the other electrical failures.

The short term cure is to turn the car off and restart it. This leads me to believe that it may be associated with the ignition switch, or maybe a relay. Anybody have any good ideas of where to look?

TIA,

Dan
