240 Radiator 200 1986

Awhile back I posted inquiring about using a radiator from a 1984 240 (metal tanks) manual transmission on an '86 (plastic tanks) auto transmission. I was told that this swap could be done (take out plugs in the cooler fittings and be sure to blow out cooler). Well it has been done and is working well. However, the '84 did not have fittings to hook up the transmission lines, so I disassembled the plastic radiator took out the cooler and hack sawed the fittings off as close to the cooler as possible. After duly cleaning these I threaded them in to the metal radiator. It seems to be working well BUT I would like to procure the original type fittings. Do they have a collar on them to stop the fitting from seating too deep in the cooler? The fittings I used will turn in too deeply if I am not careful. Additionally the fittings I scrounged want to turn when loosening the transmission lines.
