It's always a good idea to use a torque wrench when installing plugs in an aluminum head; the spec is "18 ft-lbs(do not oil)", but I use anti-sieze(very sparingly; don't get it anywhere except on the threads) and 15 ft-lbs to avoid future problems.
I expect that if the Volvo plugs claim to be pre-gapped, you can belive it, though I'd check to see that they all look about the same.
