I'm not talking about which way the pipes go. They can only go one way. I am having a problem getting the tailpipe thru the square bumper skirt/shroud hole. But I noticed that if I turned the rear muffler over the exhaust exit pipe will be lowered and there would not be a problem getting the needed tailpipe clearance. However, I put it back the way it was and it was oriented so that the exit exhaust pipe is up top. I noticed that with the exit pipe up top, the inlet pipe is closer to the rear spring and not the gas tank. So, I left it that way. I'm fairly certain that is how it was installed previously.
But if the muffler is turned over 180 degrees, then the inlet pipe is closer to the gas tank, but the exit pipe is on the bottom, allowing for plenty of room for the tailpipe.
Does anyone know the proper orientation? I don;t want to have the hot exhaust pipe too close to the gas tank and cause an explosion, so, I have it where the inlet pipe is closer to the rear spring, in other words going away from the gas tank. But my tailpipe keeps hitting the plastic shroud and melting it. Something is not quite right.
