Upper strut mount bearings 700

John,
I've just changed one of my upper strut bearings using a "Meyle" bearing, made in Germany (comes complete with top mount). I didn't count the balls but with strut re-assembled the spring rubber retainer is creaking now when turned, as though the bearing is offering too much resistance. I took the strut apart again and re-assembled to be sure of correct assembly, but it still does it. I'm hoping it will "bed in" as I don't want to have to do it again. I'd value your opinion on this. Car is late 88 745GLE with 180k miles.
