Hi,
I just purchased a 1987 740GLE for my teenage son to use and I have a few questions about repairs for this car. The car's physical appearance is very good and mechanically looks sound - so far. It has 151,000 miles. The only problems spots I have found are: A spongy brake pedal, a missing windshield wiper arm and a noise from the front-end driver's side, that seems to be suspension related. Also the seller could not tell me when the timing belt was replaced last.
Are brake parts such as master cylinders or calipers readily available from auto parts chains such as AutoZone? What about the wiper arm?
