transmission oil type F/FA

i want to change the transmission oil on my manual tranny with OD (the OD starts slipping when it's hot). So, the manual tells me to use Automatic Transmission Oil Type F. When i went to the store they had only Type FA. The guys there said i can also use it but i got the feeling that they had no clue at all what they are talking about. Can i also use Type FA in my manual or should i exchange it to type F (what's the difference anyway)?? I hope this will fix my slipping at my OD. Yeah, one more question, should i flush it and what's the best way to do it??
Thx for any help
stefan
