MY BLUE 740 HIT BY SUV. REPAIR OPTIONS??????

Hey board,
It finally happened, after 5 years of owning this wonderful car, someone, driving one of those behemoths, plowed into the side door of my 87-740. Im happy to report that, of the three passengers, no one was injured. The car performed as advertised.

However, the car, from what my observations tell me, needs both right side doors, front and back replaced. That really does appear to be all that is damaged. Well, maybe a wee bit on the rear panel, rear of the rear door.

Now, the perp has insurance, was at fault, and appears to be good for the repairs.

What my isurance company has told me is that I can file a claim through the perps company, in which case Id be own my own, and id have to wait for things to happen.

The alternative, according to my insurance co, is to let them(my insurance co) handle everything(I have a $500 deductible), have the repairs made, and then I will be reimbursed from the other insurance company, once everything is taken care of.

Any comments, observation, opinions etc appreciated. Thanks

The car has been kept in good condition. Its straight(was),some scratches, still runs and looks good. approx 165000 mi.
