No power when cold 200

I have a 245 dl wagon, 1981. When I start it in the morning it takes a couple of tries, but it gets going. Tries to die at first, have to feather the gas. After a couple minutes to warm up, it will drive fine, but has no power, doesn't matter how far I push the gas pedal, it only picks up speed at it's own pace. After driving on the freeway for about 5 miles, it's fine. All the power I could want. Anybody know what causes this?
