Anyone successfully remove lens from body of side marker lamp?

Hey folks....

I'm planning to experiment with making side marker lights (the little ones that go in the hole in fender beneath Volvo emblem) work as flashers and parking lamps.

Has anyone been able to nondestructively remove the lens from the body in such a way that the lenses could be reattached, and doesn't look like it was just butchered?

Thanks in advance,
Chris Breitner
