Cowl Covers?? 200

I've had the water leak at the passenger side hinge on our '83. I gooped up the hinge area with silicone sealer to stop the leak. It's not leaked in years.

The wiper shaft on the right side passes through the air plenum and then through a rubber grommet into the inside of the car. I disturbed that grommet when I had the wiper motor out. As a result, it leaked. A new grommet would have been best but I was able to unbolt the arm from the shaft to get room and then use silicone sealer around the grommet to seal it.

I also had a leak in the body pinchwelds up under the right corner of the windshield by the air plenum. It wasss where you could never see or reach it. Finally a windshield shop said they would fill the drain channel under the winshield trim with urethane caulking. That did stop the leak. They did the job free as good will and I keep going there for all my glass work.

The manager said that Volvos were among the worst leakers in his experience.
