M46 input shaft radial play. Anyone know the spec? 700 1988

Again, trying to hurry and finish the car (so I can return the borrowed tools, thanks TK ;^) )

The pilot bearing was a breeze to snatch out with a rented puller and the OEM rear seal should be here today. While cleaning up inside the bellhousing and the input shaft I found there is a noticeable amount of radial (side to side) play in the shaft.

I pulled the bellhousing off the trans and the shaft's ball bearing looks to be in excellent shape. No rough spots, pitting, the ball cage and race are clean etc. There was no play in that bearing. Haynes gives and endplay spec but not radial. I see by the Haynes diagram that the other end shares a needle bearing with the mainshaft. Should I be concerned about the play?

I'm trying to keep my "Shipwright's disease" in check here. Of course the bellhousing gasket needs to be replaced now too.

Thanks,
