1981 262C with a 5SPD Manual? 200 1981

Hi All,

I just got wind of a supposedly 1981 262C with a 5SPD manual tranny. I haven't seen it first hand yet, and my source could be wrong and be telling me about a 242 instead. I'm pretty sure it's a 262 and not a 242 as the guy telling me about it said it was the bigger Volvo, not the smaller.

First of all, everything I've found on the web says that only an automatic was offered in 1981 for the 262C. Does anyone know different? Right now I'm assuming the guy got his dates wrong. Also, I've read about the potential nastiness that can ensue with the engine. Just how obvious will it be if the cams are already worn down? Finally, does anyone know if these cars have adjustable seat position? I'm rather tall and don't want to waste my time if I can't push the seat back... Finally, what grade fuel does the car drink? 93? 89? 87? Please don't say 91 - there's no such thing where I live! =(

Thanks in advance for any info you guys can give.

-Chris Hayden
