Questions about a 960 900

I've been looking around for a Volvo station wagon for my wife and we recently found a 93 960 with 33k miles for $6000. I don't know too much about 6 cylinder volvos so could anyone give me some advice about this car? Is the 6 cylinder a good engine? (I've heard negative things about Peugout supplied motors). What is this car worth? Also, can anyone give me a reccomendation for a mid-90's volvo wagon? Is the 850 a decent car? I have heard pros and cons and can't seem to find a concensus. Thanks for any info.
