the cost of a repair 700 1987

Hi all,

I have a lovely slighty beat 1987 740 GLE, which I adore. The steering has gone all soft on me and I would describe it as a floating feeling. I have an appointment to take it to a mechanic, but need to know how much I can expect to pay to replace the tie rods, bushings and ball joints, plus I need it to be winterized (I'm from Massachusetts) 2 turn signal lens need to be replaced and probably new tires! However I'm afraid to drive the car and tthe steering issue is of the utmost importance. Some one please help, I really do not have alot of money and really need my car for work and to take my child to school.
Thanks so much,
Lesley
