B234F 16V 740('90) SRS reset ? !! 700 1990

A B234F 16V just fell into my lap, but with the SRS light stuck on !

How do I reset the SRS ?

I have plled the rubber plug out{ located to the lower left of the spedometer}
and presses on the button ( with car off, with it on... makes no difference !}

I have a sunroof(closed) leak, so lots of water on the floors.
Could electrical connector to SRS be wet, corroded, shorted ?
How do I get to that ?
