steering rack question 200

I have an 84.5 turbo wagon with intercooler (245ti?) and my steering rack appears to be toast. drivers side boot is split and the whole rack is covered in fluid, though it doesnt seem to leak much. the steering is very vague and floaty. Im in milwaukee now, but want to drive home to indianapolis for fall break to do some repairs. tie rod ends, new rack, etc... anyway, ive been looking into racks and i really dont want to spend a lot of money, thought id get used. when i look at new ones there seem to be 3 sizes, what cars have the same rack as mine so i know what to get at the salvage yard? also how difficult a job is replacing the center bearing on the driveshaft? whats the best place to get new parts cheap? thanks.
