Hi gang... after looking at the connector for my engine harness and seeing that two of the six wires there go to the alternator and oil pressure sender (According to my near-useless Chiltons "all volvo ever made" manual, this should be the warning light?) There are only four wires left running to their doom below.
Looking at the harness block from the passenger side, it looks like:
------|------
Blu/Y | Blu ->Oil
------|------
empty | Y
------|------
Blue | R ->Alt
------|------
Red | empty
------|------
I'm guessing that Blu/Y is the key-on to the starter and CS injector and TT switch heater. (There's a white from the TTs to the CSi, as the CSi's ground).
The Y has me stumped; I don't see a single yellow wire on this stupid diagram. (GRR!)
Blue should be key-on to the AuxAir Valve and ControlPressure Regulator, yes?
Red... hmm... ...
I'm left wondering a few things - where do the wires from the Frequency valve and distributor go? And is there anything else I've missed in this... temp sender, also not listed on my diagram. D@mn if this thing isn't useles... what about wires going between components within the harness, like the CSi/TTs white wire? Am I wrong in assuming that the only connection of the oil/alt/dist/temp/CSi/TTs/FV/AAv/CPr/Starter is through the engine harness block? That seems like too many things to run through six wires, but then again, I'm not an automotive engineer... yet:-)
I'm trying to get my brain around this thing before I take it all apart, so any illumination would be, shall we say, illuminating.
Kyle
