Pros and Cons: Gutting the OEM airbox?(pix) 900

You can go ahead and pull that foam out... just be sure to get it all - don't leave any bits hanging around, and remove as much of the adhesive tape as you can.

Removing the foam is supposed to increase the flow capacity of the airbox, although I'm sure you'd have to do quite a few other mods to "need" that extra capacity. You will definitely hear your turbo a bit more, but it should still be pretty quiet.

New air filter may bump up your MPG a bit, especially if the old one was really dirty... I like the Mann air filter I got from FCPG.
